The story didn’t begin so well that recent Sunday in East L.A. The King of Kings, Lord of Lords, who had come to earth to save humans from their endless transgressions, was betrayed by a former follower, falsely accused by the powers that be, put on trial, convicted, and sentenced to death . . . nailed to a cross between a pair of lowly thieves.
