About Saint Thomas Aquinas Cemetery

Saint Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, located in the serene valley of Ojai, California, is a sacred space for remembrance and reflection. Named after Saint Thomas Aquinas, a renowned 13th-century philosopher and theologian who significantly influenced Catholic doctrine, the cemetery embodies his legacy of faith and reason.

Established in 1912 by the Diocese of Monterey-Los Angeles, this cemetery is now managed by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It has a rich history, with burials occurring under the Diocese's care from its founding until the late 1930s. In recent years, the cemetery has undergone various enhancements, including the addition of a granite columbarium and the installation of ADA-accessible pathways.

Current restoration efforts focus on preserving its legacy and providing a dignified space for future generations to pay their respects.
